Hispano Suiza
Hispano Suiza approached us in FutureBrand to lead and develop the completely revamped Infotainment system for their new car: the Hispano Suiza Sagrera. The task was to modify the UI while maintaining most the UX untouched, so we had to figure out a way of working with their messy old-school UX while trying to improve it properly.
(MY APPROACH)
I absolutely adore cars, since I was young. Being part of this project was a dream true, so I decided to start researching what the competitors were doing and how we could implement thos best practices into our product. I had some great ideas to change the entire UI for something conceptual and more attractive, but those ideas were turned down due to budget constraints. Nonetheless, some of those ideas were later applied in the iteration that you see now.
The Vertical screen was also tweaked, creating a bespoke icon system for the car, modifying the layout and hierarchy of information to make it more approachable and easier to understand.
(IDEA)
Something minimal yet time-lasting. Something that will never get old. Those were the premises I had to work with when creating the Frontal Cluster UI. I believe some info should be reserved for the specific modes of the car (kW when in Track mode and not in Eco) but we couldn't change the main layout. The red shade behind trying to conceive the sense of speed was probably one of my best ideas in this part.
I was also tasked to design the Digital clock that you see in the first image. Fancy, isn't it?
(CHALLENGES)
Working with an outdated UX doesn't help when trying to revamp the entire infotainment system of a 2.9M € car, but, just with some visual adjustments, you can get the feeling of a completely new infotainment system, up to the standards of the brand nowadays.
(RESULT)
A well-designed, conceptually-driven infotainment for a great brand. Development of the UX interface in QT done by our partners at that time, Imascono.
